January 3, 2013 marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the March of Dimes by President Franklin Roosevelt. On this day, volunteers and supporters of the March of Dimes are petitioning the Obama Administration to light the White House PURPLE. This will be a symbol of hope for families whose children have been born too soon.
Millions of March of Dimes volunteers are working every day all over the country to support research and programs to identify cause of premature birth and to fight it. Just as the March of Dimes galvanized America to defeat polio, with the help of volunteers, supporters, and the leaders of our country, we can take huge leaps to fight premature birth and keep our future generations healthy.
Check out the petition here and SIGN!
20,094 signatures are needed by November 16.
Help to honor babies born prematurely by lighting the birthplace of the March of Dimes: the White House.
